The
DrainPacTM
Storm Drain Filter Insert is a flexible storm drain catchments and filtration
liner designed to collect contaminants and debris prior to discharge into storm
drain systems.
United Storm Water, Inc. provides a complete storm water management service:
Inspection
Removal
Installation
Maintenance
Transportation and Disposal
The drainpac is a multi-layer filtration insert. The
filtration liner is comprised of a non-woven filter cloth which has been tested
and proven to maximize filtration of sludges
containing heavy metals and petroleum hydrocarbons, The
insert support grating is comprised of a high-density polymer rated at 7,500
pounds per foot. The insert support grating and filter are suspended
below the drain, thus eliminating any interference with traffic flow.
The DrainPac is a
catchment and filtration system for any storm drain system. The retrofit design
allows for simple installation and maintenance to any catch basin.
Composed of a flexible storm drain
catchment and
filtration liner it is designed to contain contaminants and
debris prior to discharge into storm drain systems. In laboratory tests
conducted by the University California Los Angeles (UCLA), the DrainPac reduced
petroleum hydrocarbons and heavy metals to non-detect levels.
There are three parts to the DrainPac:
Metal
Support Bracket. The bracket is a metal bar with holes and studs. The
holes on the bracket are used to retrofit to any structure. The studs on the
bracket support the basket and the liner.
Insert
Support Basket. The basket is comprised of a high-density
polymer grating rated at 7,540 lbs. per foot. The bottom of the support has a
criss-cross configuration that multiplies the ultimate strength value. The
basket is supported by the studs on the bracket.
Filter Liner The liner is comprised of non-woven polyropylene.
The liner absorbs hydrocarbons and catches contaminated suspended solids. The
liner has retainer rings that are supported by the bracket.
The insert support grating and filter
liner are suspended below the drain, thus eliminating any interference with
traffic flow. The DrainPac system will conform to all sizes, shapes and
configurations of storm drains. The only modification is to install a support
bracket to the interior drain structure and insert the DrainPac.
The DrainPac system is a
cost effective method to reduce pollutants to the EPA's "Maximum Extent
Practical." and is a Best Management Practice to assist in complying with
NPDES and Clean Water requirements.
